This website records the proceedings of the IST-FP6 Grid Projects Launch and Concertation Meeting. Available on the following pages are links to reports from the meeting sessions and talks which were given.

Summary

Following the success of the Framework 5 IST Grid Projects the European Commission has recently announced the selection of a series of new Grid Projects funded under the 2nd IST Call of Framework 6. This event had two goals:

  • To formally launch the new Framework 6 Projects
  • To pass on the achievements, knowledge and lessons learned from the Framework 5 projects to the Framework 6 projects.

Meeting format

The three day meeting was split into two parts.

Day 1 – IST-FP6 Grid Projects Launch

The first day, on the 15th September 2004, focused on presenting the new Framework 6 Grid Projects and their combined overall vision. This day was open to anyone including the general public.

Days 2 & 3 – Concertation Meeting

The second and third days focused on moving forward from Framework 5 to Framework 6. These two days were only open to project participants from Framework 5 or 6 IST Grid Projects and took a form similar to recent IST Concertation Meetings on Grid Research.
